Man attempts suicide near the Kaaba

A video has circulated on social media showing a man jumping from the Masjid al-Haram. The Saudi Ministry of Interior reported that a man attempted to take his own life by jumping from the upper floor of the Grand Mosque in Mecca.

A security officer who tried to stop him was also injured during the incident. Both individuals have been hospitalized and are receiving medical treatment. The necessary official and legal measures have been taken.

The Grand Imam of Masjid al-Haram, Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, urged pilgrims to follow the rules of the holy site, emphasizing that preserving human life is one of the core objectives of Islam and citing the verse: “Do not throw yourselves into destruction with your own hands.”
