Man arrested for demanding money from Uzbeks at Kazakhstan-Uzbek border
A video has been circulating on social media showing a man threatening Uzbeks with a screwdriver at the "Koplonbek" checkpoint between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and demanding money from them.
The Turkestan regional police said they have opened a criminal case into the incident. The suspect is a 43-year-old Kazakh citizen with no permanent residence.
He is currently being held in a temporary detention center and the investigation is ongoing.
