Magnetic hijabs introduced for Muslim police officers in the UK.

UK police have introduced magnetic hijabs to attract Muslim women to the service and ensure their safety, National News reports.

The project was initiated by Detective Sergeant Yassin Desai, who proposed the idea of creating a safe and comfortable hijab for female officers 20 years ago. Developed under the Blue Light Hijab project, the hijab underwent three years of research and testing.

The magnetic hijab is reported to be easy to remove and reduces the risk of choking while maintaining a modest and professional appearance. The design was created in cooperation with Muslim policewomen.
