The President of Belarus considers the Russian language common to the peoples of the CIS states and supports the establishment of an international organization for the Russian language

The Russian language is the heritage of the peoples of the CIS countries.

This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on the sidelines of a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State in a narrow format in Bishkek.

The Belarusian leader positively assessed the trend of opening schools and universities where they teach in Russian in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

However, Lukashenko expressed dissatisfaction with the current number of such educational institutions.

“Therefore, this initiative on the Russian language is no less important than any initiative in the field of economics,” he said, speaking about the decision to establish an international organization on the Russian language.

According to him, this is necessary so that young people know Russian more than, for example, English.

“There is a part of Azerbaijanis, Uzbeks, Tajiks and so on. Not only Russians and Belarusians. Therefore, why are we losing the Russian language?” - Lukashenko noted.

The CIS agreed on an agreement on the International Organization for the Russian Language

Let us remind you that those responsible for the expert assessment of the programs of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States completed work on a project for the creation of an International Russian Language Organization for the summit in Bishkek.

The organization will be aimed at strengthening the international Russian-speaking community and will be open to countries outside the Commonwealth interested in promoting the Russian language.
