Lukashenko advises Uzbeks seeking higher salaries to work in Russia

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko advised Uzbek citizens who come to Belarus in search of higher wages to consider working in Russia instead.

According to him, foreign workers are invited to Belarus not to earn large incomes but to work in agriculture, particularly in the meat and dairy production sectors. He added that wages are determined based on the amount of production.

Lukashenko made the statement after more than 250 Uzbek workers from Andijan, who had traveled to Belarus for employment, expressed dissatisfaction with the proposed salary of $500. They stated that the same level of income could also be earned in Uzbekistan.

The Belarusian president said that anyone aiming to earn several thousand dollars should consider working in Russia, including at oil fields. He also emphasized that foreign workers in Belarus receive the same social guarantees as local citizens, including access to healthcare and education.
