Local floods predicted in Tajikistan: dangerous areas

In the near future, local and glacial mudflows may occur in a number of regions of Tajikistan, the CoES of the republic warns

Local emergencies are possible on the territory of some regions of Tajikistan.

This was reported by the press service of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of the Republic.

So, we are talking about the mountainous regions in the west of Gorno-Badakhshan, as well as the Sughd region and RRS.

Here, on August 4, weather forecasters predict local floods.

In the period up to August 6, inclusive, in some regions of Khatlon, Districts of Republican Subordination, as well as in Dushanbe, meteorological factors may worsen.

A dust storm will come here, penetrating the country from the south-west, and the level of atmospheric air pollution with suspended solids will increase.

Dust particles will reach a size of 10 µm (Rm-10) to 2.5 µm (Rm-2.5).

Meteorologists also warn that on August 4, weather conditions in the republic may provoke an increase in the level of ultraviolet rays (solar radiation) in the upper atmosphere.

In the period from 12 to 15 hours, their degree will approach elevated values, which can have a negative impact on a person. Residents of Dushanbe, GBAO and Khatlon should exercise caution during this time.
