List of over-the-counter drugs published

The Ministry of Health has provided official information regarding medicines that are dispensed without a prescription. In accordance with the legislation, information about such medicines is published in their patient information leaflets as well as in the State Register. Currently, 1,846 types of medicines have been registered as drugs that may be dispensed without a prescription. These include children’s creams, painkillers, and other medicines intended for everyday use. A list of the most commonly used medicines has been published on the Ministry’s official resources.

The Ministry also provided clarification on the “Electronic Prescription” system. The system is aimed at improving treatment safety, strengthening doctors’ accountability, regulating the circulation of medicines, and reducing the risk of counterfeit drugs. At present, the electronic prescription system is being introduced in the city of Tashkent and in 15 regions. Its gradual expansion across the entire country is planned to be completed by the end of 2026.

According to the Ministry, in emergency situations, children, the elderly, and patients with chronic illnesses will not be left without necessary medicines. These categories of patients are under special supervision. A dedicated working group has been established to monitor the operation of the system. Citizens’ appeals are accepted via the Telegram bot @ssv_pilotbot and are reviewed as a matter of priority.
