The leadership of the Antimonopoly Service of Tajikistan stated that the cost of liquefied gas depends on its prices in producing countries

In Khujand, another increase in fuel prices was noticed on the electronic scoreboards of gas stations.

Now a liter of gasoline for motorists will cost 9.80 somoni of brand AI-92 (old price - 9.60 somoni), brand AI-95 - 10.20 somoni (previously it could be bought for 10 somoni).

At the same time, liquefied gas is sold at a price of 4.80 somoni per liter. Last week it cost from 4.30 to 4.40 somoni.

The leadership of the Antimonopoly Service of Tajikistan earlier justified the increase in prices for liquefied gas by the fact that fuel is becoming more expensive in exporting countries, from where it is brought to the republic.

According to the agency, in the first half of 2023, Tajikistan imported about 170,000 tons of liquefied gas worth over $68.2 million.

A liter of fuel cost Tajik suppliers $403, which is $73 cheaper compared to the same period in 2022.

The main seller of liquefied gas is Kazakhstan - 74% of all fuel delivered to the republic. In second place is Russia - its share is 25%, Uzbekistan - just over 1%.

Since 2018, this type of fuel has been included in the list of socially significant goods in Tajikistan.

Tajikistan began to import more liquefied gas

By this document, the Antimonopoly Service received the right to intervene in the pricing of these goods and products if their prices unreasonably increase by 20 percent or more in a month.

It should be noted that liquefied gas is the main fuel in the republic, which is used by motorists.
