Life imprisonment is being proposed for sexual violence against children.

A proposal has been put forward to introduce life imprisonment for individuals who commit sexual violence against children in Uzbekistan. This initiative was advanced by Shahnoza Mirziyoyeva, First Deputy Director of the National Agency for Social Protection, and the Children's Ombudsman.
Shahnoza Mirziyoyeva announced that proposals to amend the relevant legislation have been prepared.
Additionally, there are proposals to increase liability for parents who fail to provide adequate care for their children and for educators who engage in violence or discrimination.
The Children's Ombudsman has also emphasized the necessity of introducing life imprisonment for serious sexual crimes. She noted that such crimes inflict long-term damage on children's physical and mental well-being.
