Lebanese Minister of Culture Muhammad Mortadu, the representative of the Hezbollah party in the government, has decided to ban the film "Barbie" from showing in the country's cinemas. The minister said the painting "promotes homosexuality", is contrary to religious and moral values, and also belittles the importance of the family.
The Minister asked the Lebanese General Security Service, which is traditionally responsible for censorship in the country, to take the necessary measures to prevent the film from reaching cinemas.
