Kyrgyzstan to open new checkpoint on border with China

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev met with Chinese Ambassador Du Dewen.

According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, at the meeting the parties discussed a number of issues of bilateral cooperation, including within the framework of the implementation of projects in the energy, trade and logistics, agro-industrial, agricultural, economic and business sectors.

During the conversation, the parties also discussed the opening of the Bedel checkpoint and the construction of a hydroelectric power station on the Sary-Jaz River in the Issyk-Kul region.

“In the near future, a state visit of the President of the country and a working trip of the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers to China are expected. I am sure that following the results of these visits, the Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation will move to a new level,” Bakyt Torobaev concluded.
