Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan exchange electricity. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The ministry recalled that the energy system of the Central Asian countries operates in parallel. Under the agreement between the energy companies of the two countries, the supply of electricity will be carried out on the terms of mutual exchange (return in the amount received).

"In the spring season of 2023, 150 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were supplied from Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan during a period of low domestic consumption. The Kyrgyz Republic will return this amount of electricity to the Republic of Uzbekistan in the summer season. At the same time, Kyrgyzstan supplies water for our country's agriculture during this period through the Naryn River," the report says.

It is noted that the news spread on social networks that Uzbekistan supplied a large amount of electricity to Kyrgyzstan "for little money." The department considers these statements unfounded.

As of July 18, the volume of water in the Toktogul reservoir is 10.6 billion cubic meters. At the same time, the inflow of water amounted to 698 cubic meters per second, the outflow - 449 cubic meters per second.
