Kyrgyz President Honors Student Who Walked Through Snow to School

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has invited 4th grader Nurzaman Almazbekov, who was caught on video walking through snow to school almost up to his waist, to the presidential New Year's Eve party. The president said he was impressed by the boy's desire for education and met with him in person. During the meeting, he presented Nurzaman with his old iPhone, a laptop, a soccer ball, and books.
Nurzaman is in 4th grade and is an excellent student. He loves math and Kyrgyz literature, draws beautifully, and plays soccer. He is the fourth of six children in his family.
