Khujand authorities: the problem with drinking water in the 3rd microdistrict will be solved

Khujand authorities report that in the near future the 3rd microdistrict of the city will be provided with drinking water around the clock, like other settlements

The press service of the mayor of Khujand responded to an article by Sputnik Tajikistan about the problem of lack of drinking water in one of the districts of this city.

The head of the press service of the mayor of Khujand, Mamuri Yusufzod, said that after the publication of the Sputnik Tajikistan article, the head of the city, Firdavs Sharifzoda, ordered the creation of a working group to consider the existing problem.

It is reported that Nasim Mamajonov, director of Khizmatrason-2013 LLC, which is responsible for the water supply of the 3rd microdistrict of Khujand, is obliged to increase the water supply schedule and provide it around the clock.

It is worth noting that the head of Khizmatrason-2013 did not come to talk to us during the preparation of the publication and explain the true causes of the problem.

Let us recall that on September 8, 2023, Sputnik Tajikistan published a report from the 3rd microdistrict under the heading “How one of the districts of Khujand survives without drinking water.” In the video provided in the article, residents spoke about the problem of lack of drinking water.

It turned out that this situation has persisted for several decades, but so far practically nothing has been done to solve the problem.

Some residents install plastic tanks of 500 and 1 thousand liters in the basements of their houses, store water and pump it into their apartments using a motor.

The press service of the city administration acknowledged the existence of problems, noting, in particular, that “the supply of drinking water to the population in the 3rd microdistrict is under the constant control of the leadership, the existing problems have been gradually eliminated, and in the near future the problem in this area will be solved.”
