Key KPIs for Ambassadors: Export, Tourism, and Labor Migration
Under the leadership of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a video conference was held dedicated to the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions abroad. The meeting emphasized the need to make diplomatic activities more effective and to introduce new approaches in foreign policy.
The President noted that 2025 was a successful year for foreign policy: 26 high-level visits to foreign countries were conducted, and for the first time, leaders from several European, Middle Eastern, and Latin American countries visited Uzbekistan. Dialogues in the “Central Asia Plus” format are also actively developing.
Additionally, strategic partnership relations have been established with 11 countries, bringing the total to 19, and alliance ties with Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan have been strengthened. Since 2017, 16 new diplomatic and consular missions have been opened abroad, bringing the total to 60. The number of countries with diplomatic contacts has increased to 165.
The President emphasized that an ambassador is not only a political representative but also a state agent who attracts investments and technologies, opens new export markets, increases the flow of tourists, and creates conditions for legal labor migration.
