Kazakhstan wants to provide all of Central Asia with vegetable oil

Kazakh sunflower oil producers plan to fully meet the needs of the entire Central Asian region. This was reported by Sugdnews.

2022 Kazakhstan overtook Russia in the supply of plant yogis to Tajikistan. Kazakhstan has increased its production of vegetable oil several times over the past two seasons, which has affected the volume of exports.

“Such a breakthrough in the industry was caused by measures aimed at the development of the processing industry. Kazakhstan will be able to fully meet the needs of Central Asia for sunflower oil in the next 5 years,” said Yadikar Ibragimov, chairman of the Board of the National Association for the processing of fatty plants.

According to him, the association will make every effort to achieve an increase in indicators in the medium term. However, the development of the industry is influenced by the policies of the relevant ministries. In this regard, clear decisions are expected from the ministries of Agriculture and trade to encourage further development of oilseed production.

"Kazakhstan has all the resources to supply sunflower oil to the needs of the Central Asian market and strengthen its position in foreign markets, because due to its favorable geographical location, the export of vegetable oil is the leading direction,” Added Ibragimov.
