A video showing a waste-covered steppe in Kazakhstan's Mangistau region has sparked widespread discussion on social media. According to officials, the spread of waste was caused by a fire that broke out on April 20 and strong winds. During the fire extinguishing process, lightweight waste (film, paper, etc.) flew outside the landfill. After the video went viral, special equipment and services were brought to the area to clean it up.
