The same volume of supplies of raw materials from Kaztransoil via the Russian Druzhba oil pipeline has been
announced for this year
ASTANA, Aug 18 - Sputnik. The Karachaganak Petroleum Operating Company (KPO, develops the Karachaganak oil and gas condensate field in the west of Kazakhstan) plans to send 1.2 million tons of oil to Germany via the Druzhba oil pipeline in 2024, Deputy General Director of Kaztransoil JSC Amirzhan Ospanov said.
"According to the applications received from shippers for 2024, the Karachaganak Petroleum Operating company plans to transport 1.2 million tons in this direction in 2024," Ospanov said on Friday.
KMG reported that the planned total volume of supplies to Germany this year will be at least 890 thousand tons of oil. Earlier, the transit of oil from Kazakhstan to Germany via the Druzhba oil pipeline in the amount of 1.2 million tons for 2023 was agreed with the Russian side. The first oil delivery was in February of this year.
In September 2022, the German government announced that it would hold talks with Kazakhstan on the purchase of oil with transportation via the Druzhba pipeline to provide additional volumes for the refinery in the city of Schwedt and replace oil from Russia.
Currently, Kazakhstan uses the Druzhba transit route, sending about 10 million tons of oil per year to the port in Ust-Luga.
