Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan want to establish a joint-stock company for the construction of Qambarota HPP-1. The share of the Kyrgyz side in the project and the authorized capital is 34 percent, and that of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan is 33 percent.

GES-1 is expected to become the largest power plant in Kyrgyzstan and provide electricity to Central Asian countries.

After the completion of the construction and implementation of the project, the shares and assets of Qambarota HPP-1 will be fully owned by Kyrgyzstan.
