ASTANA, Aug 18 — Sputnik. Kazakhstan introduces a ban on the import of wheat by rail for six months.
Kazakhstan is expanding measures to ban the import of wheat from third countries and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) by rail. This decision will be valid for six months, the draft order is posted on the portal "Open NPAs" and is available for discussion until September 1, 2023.
The order notes that the import of wheat by rail will be allowed only to licensed elevators, grain processors and poultry enterprises.
The ban on the import of wheat by road will also last for 6 months.
The decision is aimed at maintaining the internal stability of the grain market, the Ministry of Agriculture explained earlier.
