Kazakh Graduate Who “Tore Up Diploma” Sentenced to Jail
In Almaty, a graduate of the International College of Business and Communications was held administratively liable after “tearing up” his diploma during the graduation ceremony. Police investigation revealed that the video featured a pre‑prepared fake cover, while the actual diploma and its supplement were not damaged. Nevertheless, the footage spread widely on social media and caused significant public uproar. The court found the young man guilty of petty hooliganism and sentenced him to 5 days of administrative detention.
