Kamchibek Tashiyev's case brought to court

The criminal case against the former chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, Kamchibek Tashiyev, has been sent to court. The case is being considered under the classification of “secret”.

According to reports, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan has approved the indictment. The case has been sent to the Pervomaysky District Court in Bishkek, where Tashiyev and seven other people are accused.

The former official is charged with “attempt to seize power by force” and “abuse of official authority”. Due to the secrecy of the case, the court sessions are being held in camera. Disclosure of information about the investigation and the trial is prohibited.

Kamchibek Tashiyev was dismissed from his post in February. He was later summoned for questioning in connection with the attempted coup.
