Joint session of the Majilis and the Senate will be held on September 1

ASTANA, August 28 - Sputnik. The joint session of the chambers of the Parliament of Kazakhstan will be held on September 1 at 11.00.

The corresponding order was signed by the Chairman of the Majilis Yerlan Koshanov.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is expected to deliver a message to the people of Kazakhstan. He announced it in August, stating the need for the country's transition to a new economic model.

In September 2022, there was also a meeting of the two chambers of parliament: then the deputies considered a package of amendments to the Constitution, including limiting the term of office of the president by a single 7-year election. Also on the agenda was the renaming of the capital from Nur-Sultan to Astana.
