Joint declaration signed between Uzbekistan and Pakistan

Today, February 5, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif signed a Joint Declaration following the first meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
At the meeting, the goal was set to increase trade turnover between the two countries to $2 billion in the coming years. Agreements were reached to expand the list of goods covered by the preferential trade agreement, increase the number of phytosanitary permits for Uzbek agricultural products, and actively utilize trading houses in Lahore and Karachi.
In the presence of the leaders, more than 20 bilateral documents were signed, covering port services, agriculture, mining, pharmaceuticals, information technology, culture, sports, the environment, emergency management, anti-corruption, radiation and nuclear safety, and defense. Agreements were also signed on the creation of an expert council, cooperation between regions and cities, ministries, research institutes, and higher education institutions. A roadmap for cooperation between the defense ministries of the two countries was also approved. In Islamabad, a street was named after Tashkent, and a new park was named after Babur.

It should be noted that Shavkat Mirziyoyev is currently on a state visit to Pakistan.
