Former Prime Minister of Great Britain Boris Johnson believes that the possible reduction of US military support to Ukraine amid the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East will be a "tragic mistake."

"Some in the Capitol say that if we want to do more to help Israel against the many enemies of this country, then we should reconsider or reduce our support for Ukraine. It will be a tragic mistake," he wrote in an article for the Telegraph newspaper. According to the former prime minister, the escalation in Israel is "essentially the same struggle that has been waged in Ukraine for the past ten years." Johnson called Ukraine and Israel "two fronts in the new struggle for freedom," on which, in his opinion, a battle is being waged for common values against "different heads of the same hydra." In this regard, the former head of the British government called on the United States to continue to support both countries, since both Ukraine and Israel "deserve the protection of the West."
