Jim Carrey to star in “The Jetsons”

Actor Jim Carrey will play the lead role in the movie adaptation of the popular animated series “The Jetsons,” which is being produced by Warner Bros. The studio announced this in a letter to its shareholders.

According to IGN, this will be Carrey’s first film outside the “Sonic” franchise since 2016. Although the actor previously said he was considering retiring from acting, he later returned as Dr. Robotnik in “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” and will reprise the role in “Sonic the Hedgehog 4,” which is scheduled for release in 2027.

The animated series “The Jetsons” first premiered in 1962 and follows the Jetson family, who live in a futuristic world dominated by flying cars, robots and advanced technologies. The director of the movie has not yet been officially announced.
