According to the governor's office, these individuals are Bukhara Jews who came to visit the land of their ancestors and strengthen friendly ties.
The governor's office described this as an expression of the hospitality and tolerance inherent in the Uzbek people.

The statement also noted that more than 130 nationalities and 16 religious confessions, including Jewish communities, operate freely in Uzbekistan on a legal basis.
