In an interview with "Kabar" news agency, Kyrgyz President Sadir Japarov responded to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's objection to the law on the state language. "Sergei Lavrov did not fully read the law. There is not a single sentence about denigrating the Russian language. On the contrary, it is noted that the Russian language is used as an official language. This norm exists in the Constitution and will be preserved in the future," said the head of Kyrgyzstan. According to S. Japarov, Russian language is still very important in international negotiations. "We emphasize another aspect: let's fully develop our language. We are witnessing that civil servants and deputies are speaking half-Russian and half-Kyrgyz. No one speaks pure Russian or pure Kyrgyz. Dialect mix-and-match! Accordingly, we believe that it is necessary to know both languages at an adequate level. At the same time, it is necessary to learn English, French, Chinese and other foreign languages. "The more languages you know, the more words," says S. Japarov. As we previously reported, in May of this year, the Kyrgyz Parliament adopted the draft constitutional law on the state language in the third reading. According to it, citizens who do not know the Kyrgyz language at the intermediate (B1) level cannot work in the state and local administration system. Television and radio companies must prepare more than half of their creative products in the Kyrgyz language. The Kyrgyz language version of websites cannot contain less information than the versions in other languages. After the constitutional document was signed by President Sadir Japarov on July 17, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov objected to it. The chief diplomat of Russia, who did not hide his dissatisfaction with the growing attention to the legislation of the state language in Central Asia, wrote that the document adopted in Kyrgyzstan is against democracy. Observers evaluated this statement of the representative of the Kremlin as interference in the internal affairs of the sovereign state.
