Japarov explained the reasons behind Tashiyev's resignation

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov explained the reasons for the dismissal of former head of the National Security Council Kamchibek Tashiyev in an interview with the Kabar agency. He said that the decision was made in order to ensure state stability and prevent possible divisions in society. Some individuals tried to escalate the situation by contacting various circles on behalf of Tashiyev. “Stability in the state is above all else for me,” the president said. The president said that he had contacted Tashiyev before his resignation and explained the situation. Japarov stressed that there is no division into “Japarov’s team” or “Tashiyev’s team.” He also denied rumors about the presidential term and reminded that Kyrgyzstan is a democratic state. Japarov said that his friendship with Tashiyev would continue and that reforms would be carried out in the National Security Council in line with modern threats.

On February 10, Kamchibek Tashiyev was dismissed from his post as chairman of the State Committee for National Security. A number of senior officials were also dismissed, and some cadres were appointed to other positions. Tashiyev and Japarov are known as long-time political partners.
