Japanese scientists have invented a device that can stop human speech without physical intervention - the Speech Jammer. It returns the sound with a slight delay, which distracts the brain and makes it difficult to speak.

The device is not harmful, but is designed to gently interrupt voice conversations in places where silence is needed.
