James Cameron Plans Faster Production for New Avatar Films

Director James Cameron is planning to film the upcoming installments of the Avatar franchise faster and with lower production costs.

According to Variety, Cameron revealed in an interview with The Empire Film Podcast that he is currently working on the scripts for Avatar 4 and Avatar 5. The director noted that the production process for the films requires enormous amounts of time and a very large budget, which is why he aims to cut the filming schedule in half and significantly reduce costs.

Cameron also explained that building a film studio for such large-scale productions can take about a year.

Earlier, the director stated that whether the “Avatar” story continues or comes to an end will depend on the studio’s decision. If the project is concluded, he said he would be ready to reveal all of his plans for “Avatar 4” and “Avatar 5.”
