According to the preliminary data of the Statistics Agency, 3.3 million tons of vegetables were grown by farms of all categories in January-June 2023. This indicator has increased by 2.3% compared to the corresponding period of 2022. Surkhandarya region took the lead among regions in terms of vegetable production. Almost one-third of the total volume of cultivated vegetables was contributed by Surkhandarya region (17.7%). Also, a high share was recorded in Andijan (17.5 percent), Fergana (13.1 percent) and Tashkent (10.5 percent) regions. A low share of the total volume was observed in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (1.5 percent) and Jizzakh region (1.9 percent).
