264 Uzbeks Reportedly Participated in Military Operations Against Gaza

According to an article published by Al Jazeera, more than 50,000 foreign nationals serve in the Israeli army. Among them, 264 are Uzbeks. Uzbekistan ranks 27th out of 126 countries in terms of number of personnel.
The article notes that the majority of foreign military personnel are citizens of the United States and European countries, in particular, there are more than 12,000 U.S. citizens in the Israeli army. Among the Central Asian countries, 192 citizens from Kazakhstan, 55 from Kyrgyzstan, 33 from Turkmenistan and 8 from Tajikistan are serving in the Israeli army. International human rights organizations are raising the issue of foreign nationals involved in possible war crimes in Gaza.

According to the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, recruitment to participate in military operations is punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and recruitment and training for war is punishable by up to 12 years in prison. Those who served in the military or similar structures of foreign countries can be sentenced to up to 5 years in prison.
