"It used to be a secret" - it was said how many gas reserves there are in Uzbekistan

The question of how much gas reserves in Uzbekistan used to be a secret, now it can be talked about freely, said Bahadirjon Sidikov, chairman of Uzbekneftgaz JSC.

It was reported that at the same time, there are 933 billion cubic meters of proven gas reserves in the fields owned by Uzbekneftgaz JSC, which is half of the total gas reserves. Also, there are more gas reserves in the fields owned by other companies participating in gas production.

"However, the work did not stop there, geological exploration work is being carried out. Like the rest of the world, we are trying to go deeper underground and discover new gas reserves. If we are lucky, we will please our people with good news in the near future. The result of the major works that are being carried out now should be known in December, we expect the result to be good," said the head of Uzbekneftgaz.

Earlier, it was said that the volume of gas production in Uzbekistan will increase.
