Credit rates in banks last month increased to 23 percent. Deposits reached 21.2 percent.
By July, the average weighted interest rates of national currency loans had reached 23 percent. This was reported by the central bank. In this case, the rate of corporate loans was 22.5 percent, and the rate of retail loans was 23.2 percent.
The rise in the price of loans is happening against the background of a constant increase in the rates of deposits. By the end of July, the average rate of deposits had reached 21.2 percent. This is the highest recorded since 2014.
According to the central bank, as of the end of 2022, loan rates were 22.3 percent. 20.8 percent in 2021 and 18.8 percent in 2020.
Deposits, on the other hand, were 17% in 2020, 20.2% in 2021, and 20.2% in 2022.
It was reported that the average interest rates on national currency loans in Uzbekistan have been balanced in the last few quarters at around 22-23 percent per annum.
In June, the average weighted interest rates on short-term loans in the national currency were 22.3 percent and 22.7 percent on long-term loans.
