The permanent population of Tashkent City is 2,999,500 as of July 1, 2023. This was reported by the Metropolitan Municipality with reference to the Statistics Department.

Of which:

male population-1,471,700 people;
the female population is 1,527,800.
According to urban area cross-sectional analysis, the largest population is in Olmazor district, with 395,000 people. The lowest population was in Bektemir district — 55.7 thousand people.

According to Statistics Agency, the permanent resident population of Uzbekistan is 36,372,000. The permanent population increases by an average of 2 thousand people per day. Compared with the corresponding period of last year, the population of the Republic increased by 2.2 percent. Uzbekistan has increased by an average of 57.9 thousand people in each month of 2023.
