Issues of cooperation between the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Slovakia discussed

Chairman of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with Chairman of the National Council of Slovakia Boris Kollar, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan to attend a special meeting dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Welcoming the guest in the Milli Majlis, Speaker Sahiba Gafarova spoke about the unprecedented merits of the great leader Heydar Aliyev to the Azerbaijani people and statehood.

It was noted at the meeting that there is an active dialogue between Azerbaijan and Slovakia. There are effective ties between our countries both in a bilateral format and in international structures.

The energy policy of Azerbaijan was also discussed at the meeting, the role of our country in ensuring the energy security of Europe was emphasized. It was noted that the projects implemented on the initiative and with the participation of Azerbaijan not only contribute to the development of the participating states, but are also important from the point of view of diversifying the transportation of energy carriers to Europe.

At the meeting, the chairman of the Milli Majlis stated that Slovakia has always fully and resolutely supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and informed about the restoration and construction work carried out in the territories liberated from occupation. It was noted that Slovak companies are also interested in participating in these works.

Chairman of the National Council of Slovakia Boris Kollar expressed satisfaction with participation in the anniversary event organized in the Milli Majlis in connection with the 100th anniversary of the great leader Heydar Aliyev. He highly appreciated Heydar Aliyev's unprecedented services to the people and the state, his work for the sake of the all-round development of Azerbaijan, and efforts to strengthen the country's position in the international arena.

In the conversation, the role of parliaments in the development of relations between our countries was emphasized, the importance of mutual visits of delegations for strengthening cooperation between legislative bodies was mentioned.

The parties also shared their views on other issues of mutual interest.
