Israel releases more than 620 Palestinians

On February 26, Hamas handed over the bodies of four hostages to Israel. In response, Israel released 625 Palestinian prisoners who were due to be released last Saturday.
The first phase of the ceasefire, which came into effect on January 19, is due to end this week. In total, 25 Israelis are to be released and the bodies of eight hostages are to be handed over under the first phase, which will last until March 2. According to a Hamas source, the Palestinian prisoners expected to be released include 445 men, 24 women and minors held in Gaza, as well as 151 prisoners serving life sentences.
