"Israel builds a wall on the border with Jordan — Benjamin Netanyahu

The Israeli government plans to build a defensive wall on the border with Jordan. This was announced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“We have set up barriers on the southern border with Egypt, thereby preventing the entry of illegal immigrants into Israel. Now we will set up barriers on the eastern border with Jordan, preventing the entry of migrants from there,” Netanyahu said.

The construction of a wall on the border with Egypt prevented more than one million illegal immigrants from Africa from entering Israel.

"Without defense barriers, Israel may be on the brink of disaster,” the politician said.

Netanyahu's statement was released after the news that the country's army had prevented an attempt to smuggle Iranian-made explosives from Jordan to Israel.
