Irina Shayk shared rare childhood photos from her archive

Russian supermodel Irina Shayk posted a series of throwback photos on her personal blog, taken long before she became a global fashion icon and cover star.

Her real surname is Shaykhlislamova, and she spent her childhood and teenage years in Yemanzhelinsk, located in Chelyabinsk Oblast. Her life changed dramatically in 2004 after she won a regional beauty contest called “Supermodel,” where she was discovered by a scout and invited to pursue a professional modeling career.

“15+… with family and friends,” Irina Shayk captioned the set of 17 photos.

Some of the images show her in a домашняя (home) setting — with floral wallpaper, classic wall units, lace curtains, and even the iconic wall carpet typical of interiors from the late 1990s and early 2000s. Other photos were taken outdoors: near grapevines, at a street café, on a seaside pier, and at a scenic viewpoint during sunset.

Social media users were impressed by her early attempts at posing and left warm comments such as: “Our Ira!”, “You are so beautiful!”, and “She has always been stunning!”

Some attentive followers also noticed an interesting detail: in one photo, she is wearing a T-shirt with the name of Dolce & Gabbana — a brand that now frequently invites her to star in its advertising campaigns.

Earlier, on February 11, Irina Shayk made her debut on Italian television as a co-host at the Sanremo Music Festival, which she described as a long-time dream come true.
