Another Koran-burning action was held in front of the Swedish Parliament building in Minttorget square in Stockholm, reports The Local. Two men - Iraqi citizens Salwan Momika and Salwan Najem - first shook the book and then set fire to its pages. After that, they tore up another copy of the Qur'an and threw it in the trash. Stockholm police spokesman Mats Eriksson told AFP the event "was held without disturbing public order". Sweden has no law against desecration of holy books. The police can give permission for such demonstrations if they believe they will not lead to major disturbances. On June 28, Salvan Momika carried out a similar action in Stockholm with the permission of the city police at Medboryarplatsen square. More than 200 people, including media representatives, watched the action near the Stockholm Cathedral Mosque. A day after the rally, more than a hundred Iraqi protesters gathered in front of the Swedish embassy in Baghdad. Salvan Momika and Salvan Najem trampled the Koran in front of the Iraqi embassy in Stockholm on July 20.
