Videos circulating on social media showed explosions around the airport, with users claiming the area was targeted amid tensions between Iran, the United States and Israel.
Nakhchivan is an exclave of Azerbaijan bordering Iran, Turkey and Armenia and is a strategically important region in the South Caucasus.
