On March 4, an Iranian ballistic missile aimed at Turkish territory was shot down. The Turkish Defense Ministry announced this.
The missile passed through Iraqi and Syrian airspace and headed towards the Eastern Mediterranean Sea and was shot down by NATO air and missile defense systems. The remains fell in Hatay province. There were no casualties or injuries as a result of the incident.
In a statement, the ministry stressed that Ankara would take all necessary measures to ensure the security of its territory and citizens, and also reserved the right to respond to any hostile action, and called on all parties to refrain from actions that could lead to an escalation of the conflict.
