If the United States continues to support Israel in every way, new fronts may be opened against it, said Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahiyan in an interview with Bloomberg Television.

"The US is recommending restraint to others, but it has completely sided with Israel. If America continues what it has done so far, new fronts will be opened against the USA," he said, adding that the continuation of the current situation in the Gaza Strip would lead to the situation in the region getting out of control.

These words of the head of the Foreign Ministry came after the US strikes on facilities in Syria - Washington believes that these facilities are used by groups supported by Iran. The United States holds these groups responsible for the attacks on the American contingent in Syria and claims that the strikes were carried out in self-defense. The White House called the strikes a warning to Iran.

Abdullahiyan, for his part, said that the groups attacking American military bases move independently and do not receive any orders from Tehran.

"We have not sent new troops to Syria or other parts of the region. But we are not just watching the development of events. The Islamic Republic of Iran will take measures based on our national interests," he added.

According to Abdullahiyan, if Israel starts a ground operation in the Gaza Strip, the opening of new fronts will be inevitable.

"Any front can be opened," said the Iranian minister.

Israeli forces announced on the evening of October 27 that they were "expanding" the ground operation in the Gaza Strip, as well as increasing the intensity of air, ground and sea attacks. The Israeli military did not specify what "expansion" meant. According to experts, the escalation of hostilities does not mean the beginning of a large-scale invasion.

After the Israeli strikes, communication was interrupted in the region, the Internet is working with interruptions. The Red Crescent Society, WHO and Doctors Without Borders have reported that they have lost contact with staff inside the enclave.
