Individual Detained in Fergana for Promising a Governorship for $210,000
An individual has been detained in the Fergana region for promising to secure the position of Uchkuprik District Governor in exchange for $210,000.
Reportedly, a citizen identified as S.A. posed as an assistant to a judge of the Arbitration Court of Uzbekistan and promised to have citizen I.D. appointed as governor through high-ranking acquaintances. He was caught red-handed while accepting $100,000 of the agreed $210,000 sum.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident on charges related to fraud and bribery, and an investigation is currently underway.
