India holds National Guard exam on an airport runway

In India’s Odisha state, a written examination for recruitment into the National Guard (Home Guard) was held at an unusual location — on an airport runway. According to local authorities, more than 8,000 candidates registered for just 187 available positions.
As the number of applicants was far higher than expected, Jamadarpali Airport in Sambalpur district was temporarily converted into an examination venue.
