The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan reported on the statistics of criminal acts committed in the period from January to July 2023
In the first half of 2023, all public services in Tajikistan recorded over 11.6 thousand crimes.
This was reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic.
It is noted that this is 870 cases more than in the same period in 2022.
According to statistics, the Ministry of Internal Affairs registered 5.4 thousand offenses in January-July 2023, of which 4.3 thousand were investigated.
Thus, the percentage of detection of crime in the country amounted to 85.3%.
The ministry stressed that rape and human trafficking have become more frequent in Tajikistan.
In the first case, the number of criminal acts increased from 22 in the same period in 2022 to 25 in 2023. In the second case, the statistics showed an increase from 8 to 34 immoral acts.
However, there is also a decline in a number of crimes in the republic, such as theft (by 872 situations), fraud (by 224 cases), murder (by 15 cases), intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm (13), robberies (5) and extortion (1) .
In addition, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country detained more than 11.5 thousand wanted criminals.
According to this organization, minors committed more crimes during this period, which is considered a cause for concern.

Earlier, an increase in the number of seized drugs was recorded in Tajikistan.
According to the Drug Control Agency, in the first half of 2023, security forces seized 366 kg of drugs. This figure is 115 kg or 45% more than in the same period last year.
At the beginning of summer, a meeting was held in Dushanbe to control and coordinate the implementation of Operation Poppy 2023.
As part of the event, those present discussed the identification and disposal of narcotic plants, including wild and illegally planted ones.
