The price of tickets for domestic passenger trains in Uzbekistan will be increased. This was reported by the press service of "Uztemiryolyochchi".
It is noted that passenger train ticket prices were revised for the last time in 2018 on local routes, in 2019 on the high-speed electric train "Afrosiyob", and the fares have remained unchanged for the past 4-5 years. remains.
During 2019-2022 and nine months of 2023, wages in the republic increased by 2.4 times, electricity and fuel prices, logistics and transport costs increased significantly, as well as renewal of passenger car fleets, purchase of new trains in order to keep railway stations up-to-date, changes are being made to ticket prices.
"In this regard, from October 20, 2023, passenger tickets in the passenger transport business of Uzbekistan Railways JSC will be reduced by 50% of the ticket prices of passenger trains on local routes, high-speed trains "Afrosiyab" informs that the full price of electric train tickets will be increased by 100%.
At the end of September, a meeting was held in the presence of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev regarding the main issues to be resolved in the railway sector.
