Norma informs that the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers "On measures to determine the norms of the duration of annual extended work leave for teachers" has been adopted.

The document defines the norms of the length of annual extended work leave for pedagogic employees of pre-school, school, out-of-school, sports, professional educational institutions and universities.

The length of extended vacation for teachers of general educational institutions is 56 calendar days. The complete list can be found at the link below.

Sundays and holidays are not taken into account when paying for extended working holidays.

For information, according to the Labor Code, pedagogical employees of educational organizations are granted annual extended work leave. The document was published in the National Database of Legal Documents and entered into force on June 27.

The number of pedagogues in Uzbekistan

According to the Statistics Agency, the number of pedagogues (without substitutes) teaching in general education institutions in the republic in the 2022/2023 school year was 521,600. 159,900 of them or 30,7% of all pedagogues were male pedagogues.

In the 2022/2023 academic year, compared to the 2018/2019 academic year, the number of male pedagogues increased by 27.8 thousand or 21.0 percent. The number of male pedagogues teaching in schools in Samarkand and Kashkadarya regions is large.
