In Florida, 13 people died from Vibrio vulnificus bacteria after hurricanes "Helen" and "Milton". This virus can be transmitted by contact with seawater on open wounds or by eating raw seafood. Symptoms include fever, chills, low blood pressure and skin lesions. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are an average of 150 to 250 cases of Vibrio vulnificus infection in the United States. Every fifth infected person dies.
